This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps Man With a Van Soho has taken, and continues to take, to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our business operations and supply chains. We are committed to conducting all our activities in an ethical, transparent and responsible manner, and to acting with integrity in all our relationships.

Our Business and Supply Chain

Man With a Van Soho provides transport, removals and related services. Our operations are based in the United Kingdom and our workforce includes employees, contracted drivers and support staff. Our supply chain primarily consists of vehicle leasing and maintenance providers, fuel suppliers, equipment and packaging providers, and occasional use of subcontracted transport services.

We recognise that modern slavery, forced labour and human trafficking are serious crimes and violations of fundamental human rights. While our sector is not typically high risk compared with some industries, we understand that risks can exist at any stage of a supply chain and we are committed to identifying and addressing them proactively.

Zero-Tolerance Policy

We operate a clear, zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, forced labour, child labour and human trafficking. This policy applies to everyone who works for or with Man With a Van Soho, including employees, agency staff, subcontractors, suppliers and other business partners.

We will not enter into or maintain relationships with any organisation or individual that we know is involved in, or knowingly turns a blind eye to, modern slavery or human trafficking. Any breach of this policy by our personnel may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or contract, and in serious cases may be reported to the relevant authorities.

Supplier Standards and Audits

We expect our suppliers and subcontractors to uphold the same high standards that we set for ourselves. Our procurement processes incorporate ethical and human rights considerations, and we assess potential and existing suppliers against these expectations.

Where proportionate to the size and nature of the relationship, we conduct due diligence on suppliers and, where necessary, carry out audits or request evidence of their own policies, procedures and training relating to modern slavery and human trafficking. These checks may include verification of working conditions, recruitment practices, right-to-work controls and the use of labour agencies.

If we identify concerns about a supplier’s practices, we will work with them to address those issues through corrective action plans where appropriate. If issues are not remedied within a reasonable timeframe, or if serious breaches are identified, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate the business relationship.

Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing

Man With a Van Soho encourages a culture of openness and accountability. We expect all employees, contractors and suppliers to speak up if they have any concerns or suspicions regarding modern slavery or human trafficking related to our business or supply chain.

Concerns can be raised through established internal reporting routes, including line managers or senior management, or any other designated reporting mechanism communicated within the business. Reports may be made confidentially and will be treated seriously and sensitively. We do not tolerate any form of retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith, even if it is not ultimately substantiated.

All reports will be reviewed and, where appropriate, investigated promptly. Where necessary, we will involve external advisers or relevant authorities to ensure that any suspected cases are properly addressed.

Training and Awareness

We are committed to enhancing awareness of modern slavery risks across our business. Relevant staff, particularly those involved in recruitment, procurement and supplier management, are informed about the signs of modern slavery and the procedures for escalating concerns.

We aim to embed respect for human rights in our day-to-day decision-making and to encourage our people to remain vigilant to potential indicators of exploitation, such as unusual working patterns, signs of coercion or lack of freedom of movement.

Monitoring, Annual Review and Continuous Improvement

We understand that tackling modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility. Man With a Van Soho will review this Modern Slavery Statement at least once a year, or more frequently if required by changes in law, guidance or the structure of our business or supply chains.

The annual review will consider the effectiveness of our current measures, any reported concerns or incidents, changes in risk levels, and feedback from employees and suppliers. Where weaknesses or opportunities for improvement are identified, we will update our policies, procedures and training accordingly.

This statement has been approved by the management of Man With a Van Soho and represents our commitment to continuous improvement in preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all aspects of our operations.
